I was very surprised to see all the sunflowers that pop up in Nagano, Japan. I was on a walk one day and ran into a bed of sunflowers. These things were incredible. I quickly hopped this little fence and jumped right into the middle of the sunflower bed. This particular shot was taken with the Nikon D200 and 28-70mm f/2.8 lense. I added some color punch in Photoshop using a special action that I’ve created. I thought it came out pretty good. Next summer I plan to be ready for the sunflower season though. It’s going to be great!

Here is a shot of my 4 month year old daughter Sasha with the Nikon D200, 105mm DC f/2 lense, and the SB800 as fill. This was shot with the SB800 set to TTL BL, 1/250 sec, at f/4. The day was in the afternoon with dark and cloudy weather. I could have shot this without the flash, but I was practicing my fill flash techniques during this time. I have to take a couple of steps backward generally with this lense over the 85mm f/1.4, but this is not a problem for me since I move around a lot anyway. Although, I had Sasha on a park bench so I was a little worried about catching her if she should fall over to one side. Nonetheless I am extremely happy with the lense so far. I have yet to use the DC funtion of the 105, but will no doubt be practicing that over the weekend.
