Recently I have been having a very strange problem with Photoshop CS3. I would run the program for a week or so and then it would suddenly shutdown immediately after startup. Thus I couldn’t get Photoshop CS3 to startup at all. It was driving me crazy and I found there was no solution over at the Adobe forums. Well, after some trial and error, I happen to stumble upon a fix that seems to work very well. At the very least I am not having anymore startup problems with Photoshop CS3.
Here is what I did.
Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache and delete the file named “cache.db“.
Presto! Photoshop CS3 starts right up without any problems at all. Awesome!
