The new Nikon D300 has finally been announced. Along with the newly announced Nikon D3 as well, the Nikon D300 looks like it will be a pretty nice upgrade to the popular Nikon D200. The camera will be available sometime in November, but with the demand, waiting lists, and all the hoopla from the previous Nikon D200 release, I’ll probably wait until Spring or early Summer to consider picking one up. I am also very interested in the D3 since I have a fair amount of full frame lenses so I may consider that route. Until then, it will be interesting to see what kind of photos come out of the camera and whether these new cameras will work as advertised rather than rushed to the open market. I know Canon has been releasing quite a bit of new gear as well and the Nikon camp has been a bit anxious for these new releases. This definitely makes me feel better about my Nikon investment though. I have no preference with regards to Nikon or Canon other than the fact I have spent quite a bit of money on Nikon. I obviously want to see Nikon continue developing and releasing quality cameras to protect and further my investment. Thus I am happy to hear about these new announcements.
Interestingly enough, I was able to register the domain www.nikon-d300.net as an upgrade to my blog here. For now, this domain will redirect to my new website. Enjoy!
