This is a closeup of a turtle found in the famous pond outside Zenkoji Temple, Nagano Japan. I chose to shoot a black in white because the debris and colors that surrounded the turtle seemed to distract my eye too much. I caught a fish catching up in the upper left hand corner so I titled the photo "the race". My daughters love watching the turtles very much whenever we visit Zenkoji Temple.
