Nikkor 28mm F1.4 is one of the most legendary lenses that Nikon has ever produced. This lens is now discontinued and has become highly collectible. Even though this lens is highly regarded, it’s Auto/Manual focus selector switch can get easily damaged or cracked. This spare part is not easy to find & not freely available. Fortunately I was able to find one of these on Ebay for $95 bucks. Whether this is a good deal or not, I am unsure, but I do know that if I ever encounter a hairline crack or am required to sell my lens in the future, it will be nice to have. Most likely I will have to send the lens into Nikon with the spare part to have fixed when broken unless I can find information on how to do it myself. With such a precision instrument, I most likely will send in the lens of course. Below are some photos taken from the Ebay auction which shows the spare part purchased. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email or comment on the photographs. If I get a chance, I may take some new photos that are a bit better.
