Sasha Fish Eye Wow! The Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye lense is sure fun. I carry this little wonder lense everywhere I go now. It’s amazing all of the cool shots you can get. Some have claimed it’s a little hard to shoot with, but in my opinion it couldn’t be easier. I mentioned portraits in the title because I feel it can be used for wide angle portraits such as this photo. I think the fisheye creates cool backgrounds. The trick is to capture the subject in the little sweet spot were the distortion is minimal. Then let the lense do it’s stuff with the other areas of the photo. This image came out very sharp and the exposure I thought was excellent. I did inject some additional color to spice things up a bit. I think kids are great with color all around. Yes, the Nikon 10.5 is a bit expensive and considered by many a novelty lense. However, I would have bought this lense sooner if I knew how much I used it. It’s just awesome and a heck of a lot of fun to shoot with. My wife loves it for the kids and interior shots. I haven’t tried de-fishing any images yet, but I don’t think I would want to. I have the 12-24mm f/4 for doing that sort of stuff which works great as well. I highly recommend to try fishing… Nikon Style!
