An unusual “Shishi” (Lion / Dog Protector) statue at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano Japan… I often see one either side of a temple gate, but rarely two. I opted to photograph the male ones as identified by the ball under their feet… The females usually have a cub. I thought the color contrast was interesting with the background and the available light.
