This is a typical paper New Year fortune found tied to trees at most temples in Japan. This is located at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City Japan. I experimented with some selective focusing to try and come up with something interesting with an otherwise ordinary piece of paper with writing on it. This is one of the challenges in photography that I find very exciting and often rewarding. Looking for new ways to shoot mundane or even enteresting objects is a lot of fun.
