Another great day of shooting some lanterns around the city of Nagano, Japan. Here’s a black and white shot I recently took near Zenkoji, Temple.

The bandana around the guys head is what first caught my attention. This is very typical among men working outdoors in Japan regardless of the weather. Construction workers as well can be seen sporting towels wrapped around their heads or neck. It’s very popular and perhaps wise to keep the sweat under control.

This is a video of a short drive through Yoshida, Nagano Japan. I was holding the Creative Vado with two hands while driving with my knees…laugh. Juuust Kidding!

I drive on this street everyday and you really have to watch all the cars pulling in and out.

Japan is littered with these mansions or apartments. You can see the laundry everyone hangs outside during the day. Hang drying is the preferred method of drying your clothes in Japan. Gone are the days of dishwashers, garbage disposals, clothes dryers, and air popcorn makers I experienced in Seattle. For a hi-tech place like Japan, I do miss some of these features from the States.
